CAROLINAS OUTREACH TO HAITI

July 16, 2014 - July 23, 2014

Thank God for an awesome trip! Thirty-six of us made the trip to Haiti, seven of which were teenage boys. We ended Wednesday, our long travel day, with a 3 hour drive to the countryside. We got the work week started Thursday morning with the medical clinic, vacation bible school, sewing class, STD education class and construction work. Friday was the same, except the teenagers went to KaRoi, a mountain village. The hike took about two and a half hours each way. KaRoi is a village that has no water and is praying that Carolinas Outreach to Haiti will be able to get a well dug for them. We chose Saturday, market day, to be our beach day. Sunday morning worship was at church in Valbrune.  The afternoon was spent with the kids at the youth shack, and the evening was spent at the church with the teenagers. It was a great day seeing what God is doing in the lives of those in Haiti. On Monday and Tuesday, the team headed back to the clinic, vacation bible school, and the construction site. The teenagers went to a soccer camp in Aquin where they got outplayed by the villagers. For the week we saw 654 patients at the clinic. We had enough medication and vitamins for everyone. We had a dentist for 3 days.  He saw 52 patients and extracted 83 teeth.
